Sophia is a founding educator at AltSchool, who has held varied roles in teaching, admissions, and school operations. In 2015, she began the AltSchool Spanish Immersion Program with the goal of shaping bilingual global citizens who are socially conscious and environmentally aware. Sophia is currently the Lower Elementary Educator at AltSchool East Village. Sophia holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Art History from Northwestern University. Before teaching at AltSchool, Sophia taught in Chicago Public Schools’ bilingual education program as a Chicago Teaching Fellows Corps Member.
Sophia Espinoza
Core Educator
Dina has worked with children in both educational and residential settings for over 11 years. She is a Partner Educator at AltSchool Fort Mason. Prior to joining AltSchool, she was a founding teacher at Blue School, a play-based and co-constructivist school in New York City. She founded the school's studio art program and was lead teacher of the two-year-old program. Dina lived in New York City for 11 years before relocating to the Bay Area to help Harker School in San Jose open their preschool campus in 2013. She has an MPS in Arts Therapy and Creative Development from Pratt Institute and a BA in English and Film Studies from UC Irvine.

Kate was a founding educator at AltSchool Fort Mason and is now the Personalization Lead after teaching in the classroom for two years. Kate attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she received a Master’s in Education in the Mind, Brain and Education program. Her research focused on educational neuroscience, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and social-emotional development throughout childhood. She applied her learnings while working in a Reggio-Emilia Beginners classroom at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Before teaching, Kate received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Amherst College.
Kate Moriarty
Personalization Lead
Annette is the Head of School for AltSchool Dogpatch. In addition to many years as a classroom teacher, Annette was the Head of School at Berlin Bilingual School in Berlin, Germany. She also ran a small business for women’s development in Bangkok and founded an art program in Uzbekistan. Annette holds a Master of Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Bank Street College in New York. Her son is an AltSchool graduate.

Kai is a math teacher in San Francisco and informs our STE(A)M and project-based learning curricula. He mentors his students to develop a foundation of “best practices” so they are set up to achieve success in all learning settings. Kai's passion is the development of math games, which he uses to bring abstract math concepts to life. His favorite moment this past year was watching two students compete in the finals of a classroom competition involving an “order of operations” card game while the class cheered them on!

Joyce leads AltExplore and experiential programs in our lab schools. She was most recently the director of learning at Education Outside, a nonprofit serving 26 elementary and K to 8 schools within San Francisco Unified School District. Prior to that, she worked as both an administrator and an educator at the Edible Schoolyard at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Berkeley. She holds a BA in English and American Literature from Princeton University and is a graduate of the Professional Chef's Program at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.
Joyce Lin-Conrad 
Head of Experiential Programs
Brandon began his career in education as a Head Start Pre-K teacher in Los Angeles with Teach for America and an Analyst Fellow with Education Pioneers. Prior to beginning his work in schools, he spent time in the corporate partnerships and athlete marketing divisions with the Los Angeles Lakers and Wasserman. Brandon holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California and an M.A. in Educational Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Hannah splits her time at AltSchool between product management, UX research, and classroom operations. Previously, she helped empower kids and teachers at Launchpad Toys and Experience Early Learning. Hannah earned her BA in Early Childhood Education at Columbia College Chicago.
Hannah Clemmons
Product Manager
Anna Andresian is an engineer on the Product, Engineering, and Design team working on the AltSchool platform. She taught Middle and Upper School Latin for 11 years before transitioning to a career in software engineering. She began this new stage of her professional life at Amplify, where she worked for a year and a half before coming to AltSchool. She holds a bachelor's degree in Classics from Brown University and a master's degree in Classics from the University of Oxford.
