David is considered by many to be a teacher whose impact on students truly lasts a lifetime. He brings extraordinary creativity, depth, and passion to the classroom, and thinks big about education, constantly looking critically at his own practice. David began his career at AltSchool teaching upper elementary and middle school English with an emphasis on developing student agency. He led his class in an exploration of adolescent psychology with the aim of arming them with the knowledge to be full partners in co-designing their learning experience. He loves to create rich, integrated units that develop authentic relevance outside the school community.

Since joining AltSchool in 2013, Sumeet has worked closely with families, and now leads AltSchool’s High School Admissions Team, helping students, educators, and parents navigate the complex high school application process. Prior to working at AltSchool, Sumeet gained nearly a decade of classroom teaching experience, primarily as a high school and middle school science educator. She also gained experience at a technology startup working at Sidecar (a former competitor to Uber and Lyft), where she was first exposed to the transformative effect that technology could have within a static institution. At AltSchool, she’s excited to witness this transformation firsthand with students, educators, and parents.
