Partner Schools

We’re accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.

We're currently accepting applications for our Brooklyn Heights (pre-K through 4th grade), East Village (pre-K through 4th grade), and Union Square (5th through 8th grade) schools, and admit students on a rolling basis.
AltSchool is a network of small, independent pre-K through 8th-grade schools. Each school fosters personalized learning in small environments while benefiting from the larger AltSchool community of students, parents, and educators across the country.

The local neighborhoods are an extension of our classrooms. New York City’s rich history and diversity affords opportunities to meet local experts and experience community sites, whether that means exploring the Water Lab in Brooklyn Bridge Park, learning about local history through the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, or visiting the National Museum of Mathematics.

Admissions Process

Schedule a visit

We host a variety of events, such as Open Houses, for prospective families to learn about our educational approach, meet educators, and tour the school. Register today.

Apply online

Our application is an opportunity for us to get to know your child and family. There is no fee to apply.

Attend an interview

After reviewing applications, we invite families in for an interview. Your child will spend time with our educators in a classroom setting. Guardians will also have the opportunity to meet with school and admissions team members, and tour the school.

We are accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year for pre-K through 8th grade, and admit students on a rolling basis. Children must be four years old by December 31, 2017 to enroll in our Brooklyn Heights and East Village campuses for the 2017-18 school year.

Wait List: Qualified applicants whom AltSchool cannot immediately accept are placed on a wait list. Wait lists are active throughout the admissions period, and candidates are considered for acceptance if a space becomes available.

Mid-Year Transfers: AltSchool accepts mid-year transfers based on availability at each school location. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in a mid-year transfer.
