Together, we can change the future of education

Our passion for re-imagining education informs what we do every day, whether it's building innovative new technology tools for the classroom, connecting with communities of parents and students to learn how we can meet their needs, or recruiting the best talent for our team.

Education Team

Our educators bring years of experience from diverse backgrounds including public and private school, and traditional and progressive models. We believe that in order to transform education, we must change the culture around how we support teachers.

Meet our educators

Head of School

The Head of School sets academic vision for school, supports professional growth for the educator team and works directly with students as a master educator. As school leaders, their responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a culture that facilitates personalized learning. Heads of School build and maintain positive, transparent relationships with families and the broader community. They also support and drive innovation within the school and across our network.

Classroom Educators

AltSchool educators collaborate with each other, researchers, designers, and technologists to design and refine our innovative model for school education. At the heart of their work, our educators support students in reaching their personal academic and social-emotional goals. They design experiential, project-based learning experiences that use local resources and encourage deeper learning and real-world connections. They promote structures and routines that make thinking and learning visible and craft a community of transparency, care, and responsiveness for all learners. Our educators partner with families and engage in ongoing communication about student growth throughout the year.

Personalization Lead

The Personalization Lead supports our learning community by ensuring that all learners get the right support at the right time. The primary role of the Personalization Lead is to collaborate with educators around student progress and mastery. They also work directly with students and families throughout the year in helping all students reach their full potential. The Personalization Lead provides guidance and assistance to all areas of AltSchool including school culture, goal-setting and coaching, home/school relationships, mentorship and deepening our teaching practice.

Experiential Programs

Our Physical Education/Extended Day Leads are embedded into the school day, developing robust relationships with students and helping bring the power of play, movement, the outdoors, and unstructured time to life. They work closely with our dedicated classroom teachers and support project-based learning in the classroom.

Before and after the school day, our World Language Specialists facilitate a learner-centered, project-based curriculum focused on interpersonal communication and presentational speaking in a foreign language.

By bridging the transition from the core day to after school, our school-based Experiential Programs team is able to personalize student experiences based on our deep knowledge of each child.
